Beachfront: easy beach access — white sands, empty beaches
No, we are not exactly beach front, we are elevated above the beach. We look down on the Kuaotunu Beaches. Clean, white sand beaches, with practically no one on them. While that is something you can only dream about in so many other countries, in New Zealand it is quite usual. So many beaches and so few people.
Kaeppeli's BnB is at the top of the hill at Kuaotunu.
Because it is elevated, we get a really wonderful view. We are away from the road and traffic noise.
The beach in the early morning is deserted — you can put yourself in another world, watching the sunrise from the beach. The first light on the waves.
It's about a seven-minute walk to the beach down our road. Or we have a little track through the bush.
This goes to another little beach.
Each beach has its own special character. Clean, white sand beaches. The type that you may see in your dreams. Here, they are a reality.
Jacky and Dave — bush walk was fun — 17.02.2003
We had such fun on our bush beach access - Jill told us later the wild pigs had damaged the track, that explains it. Down the road was much easier. Thanks for all the adventures.
Why are there no people on Otama beach?
What's wrong with it?
Nothing wrong with it at all. It is just one of many of our beautiful eaches in this area. One of my favourites actually.
Where is the beach access from your place?
Walk to the bottom of the road or throught the bush to Rings beach.
Kuaotunu beach is quite open so you have access to it right along the beach. The same goes for Rings Beach and Otama.
